Project Overview
Montessori Peaks Academy was a complex and transformative adaptive reuse of approximately 20,000 square feet, converting a former church into a fully functional public charter school for Jeffco Schools. This project required a deep understanding of both the physical and operational needs of a Montessori educational environment, as well as the challenges inherent in repurposing an existing structure for a new use.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the need to coordinate construction activities adjacent to an active school. Our team implemented rigorous pedestrian and vehicle traffic control measures to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors during construction.
HPM delivered a project that not only met the stringent requirements of adaptive reuse but also aligned perfectly with the educational goals of Montessori Peaks Academy. The result was a seamless integration of the old and the new, creating a vibrant, safe and inspiring space for the school community.
