Colorado State Capitol Repairs and Sub-Basement Systems

  • Colorado State Capitol Repairs and Sub-Basement Systems

Project Overview

HPM worked with the historic Colorado State Capitol to construct a below-floor utility change with a removable access flooring to relocate the utilities and replace systems that were near the end of the life span. HPM was selected as the CM/GC contractor to provide preconstruction services, including constructability, budget, and schedule to multiple design solutions. The below-floor sanitary sewer system was replaced as well as partial electrical reconfiguration to facilitate the construction of a new accessible chase. Other significant improvements included the structural modifications of stone foundations, excavation of trench and placement of concrete, sanitary sewer system, and electrical. Our team resolved unanticipated obstacles such as asbestos below existing slabs and access for material removal and placement.
